The Rockdale Blackhawk hospital needed to expand their services to meet the demands of the community.
Additional space was required for a new clinic, for emergency treatment, and for a new MRI and CT machine.
The challenge was to blend these new services into a single building so that doctors, staff, and patients would have easy access to the new services via one shared concrete sidewalk between the hospital and the proposed new building. The hospital also wanted a building that was as comfortable and pleasing to work in as the hospital itself.
Quick Facts
Nine months start to finish
The architects and engineers at BOXX Modular designed three distinct modular areas for the new services that could be installed together or separately. Each area had front door access from the sidewalk and offered a metal canopy to protect doctors, staff, and patients from rainy conditions.
The exterior of the modular building was designed with a modern Eifs exterior and crown molding to blend with the original hospital’s brickwork. Within, the building offered the convenience and aesthetics of nine-foot ceilings, solid-core doors with metal jambs, a fully-ducted Roof Top HVAC System, painted, and textured walls, and ceramic tile and laminate flooring.
