The leadership at Innovation Academy is well versed in construction and knew that permanent modular classrooms would be the best solution to their classroom overcrowding dilemma. They also understood that their modular classrooms would be installed faster and more affordably than if they went in the direction of conventional construction, allowing them to achieve both their financial and schedule goals.
The individual perimeter frame classroom building modules were each fabricated in Pennsylvania inside a controlled manufacturing plant, while the site was being prepared. When the site was ready the modules were delivered by truck and set on the newly installed foundation system. The 14 classroom building includes a teacher’s lounge, vestibules, restrooms, and a central corridor. Extra-large windows were installed to provide abundant natural light in each of the classrooms. The roof mounted HVAC system provides for maximum temperature control through programmable thermostats. A storm water management system installed underneath the classroom building is designed to handle the roof water runoff drainage.
