The manufacturing of this 27,552 sq. ft. temporary-classroom building began on June 8th and needed to be ready for occupancy by August 25. In as little as 78 days, this 32-module, temporary classroom building was ready for Kenner Discovery Health Sciences to open its doors to staff and students. This temporary facility included two new classroom wings, an administrative office building, and a cafeteria. Fortunately for them, off-site construction delivered a lot of space in a short amount of time.
These temporary buildings are not only eco-friendly, but also include fire alarms, locking mechanisms, and smart boards. For a temporary classroom building, this facility offers Kenner Discover Health Sciences everything they need to operate until their new school building is finished. When the time comes to move into their new building, the temporary classrooms, office, and cafeteria will be removed form the site and delivered to another school for similar purposes. The reuse of building space creates opportunity for other schools to affordably purchase or lease the used modular structures, rather than purchasing new.
