Barnstable-West Barnstable Elementary is one of several elementary schools Barnstable Public Schools is working to expand, in order to provide better learning spaces for their students and teachers.
This new custom permanent modular classroom building is 4,990 square feet, featuring cutting edge space for interactive art, music, and library classes.
Prior to the construction of this building, the art teacher pushed a cart from classroom to classroom to teach, while the music class was held in a small room lacking optimal daylight and space. The library had been moved around in the existing building several times, with its most recent location on the elementary school’s stage. As you can imagine, the library was lacking space and facing significant disruption from regular activities in the gymnasium, while the stage could not be used for plays, programs or other purposeful events.
